Client Contract

The information in this contract is about Ken and what you can expect from your therapeutic relationship. A comprehensive overview of Ken’s process is provided, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out. After looking it over and you feel comfortable moving forward, scheduling an appointment will confirm that you have received, reviewed, and understand the information herein.

Ken’s Credentials

Ken received a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation counseling from Wright State University in Dayton, OH where he double majored in Addictions and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He received his undergrad in Substance Abuse Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Ken has eight years of clinical experience working in the mental health field.

Ken’s Approach

From Ken’s view, counseling/coaching is about meeting you where you are emotionally and cognitively. The connection Ken endeavors to develop with you is his greatest asset to helping you effectively process through life challenges. The counseling session is a space where you can freely talk through issues that concern you most. To help facilitate this, Ken engages in a reflective, supportive, and responsive way. Although he creates a comfortable place for conversation, he does not shy away from topics that are taboo or awkward to discuss – in order to understand how to reach a goal, it is important to understand the obstacles getting in your way.

Ken’s Fees

$100 for a 45-minute session with individuals and $150 for a 45-minute session with couples. Ken does not accept insurance. As time allows, 15-minute increments can be applied with for an additional fee of $25. An invoice is generated after each session and sent to your email. Payments are accepted via credit card, or if needed, Ken will provide you with steps for paying with Paypal, Venmo, or Zelle. Ken’s policy is to not hold another session until payment has been submitted for the previous session.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before our session, or cancel anytime due to a medical emergency or another type of crisis, there will be no cancellation fee. Otherwise, $35 will be billed for a missed appointment.

Confidentiality

The therapeutic relationship between you and Ken will be completely confidential. Anything discussed within the session is private. However, there are limits to confidentiality. If you indicate that you may be a danger to yourself or others, Ken is obligated to disclose this to relevant persons. Additionally, Ken is a mandated reporter of child abuse and is required to report child abuse to the proper authorities.

Session Platform

The video platforms through which you will have your sessions are secure and easy to use. There are a few platforms to choose from – the best one will be selected for optimizing connection. Zoom is usually the best option. If the video quality significantly impacts the session, switching over to a phone call will be suggest to complete the session.
